Physical Exercise and Sports: Health Tools
Physical exercise and sports as health tools, as well as entertainment and competition, are essential tools for addressing health, both individually and through Community Health Policy.
There is a growing belief in the therapeutic role of exercise in the management of many diseases.
Some diseases that have shown evidence of the usefulness of exercise in their treatment are:
Disorders related to the metabolic syndrome (insulin resistance, type II diabetes, dyslipidemia, hypertension and obesity)
Heart disease (coronary artery disease, chronic heart failure and intermittent claudication)
Diseases muscle, bone and musculoskeletal (arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome)
Other diseases (depression, asthma and cancer).
More and more people who know some aspects of exercise prescription for the treatment of some diseases, and improving the quality of life and prolonging life.
